Goth Makeup - How to Get the Perfect Goth Look - Part 2

Next you have to figure out what to use as your base make up. There are a few types which you can use. One is to use white powder and this would create a really pale, almost deathly looking skin tone for your face. Many vampire and hardcore Goths as well as supernatural’s use this kind of style. But be careful and don’t overdo it! See, many people make the mistake of caking the powder in their faces and they end up looking plain ugly. The trick is to lightly dust it till you achieve the tone you like. Dusting it on would help make it appear light as if it’s not even there. Remember that your skin should have a white glow not like a cakey and oily pale pastry.

Many people also use natural colored powder for Goth make up. It is invisible and simple smoothes out your skin tone giving it a more natural glow. This works well with the romantic style as well for the other softer styles. You simply need to lightly dust in some natural colored powder on your skin. Using colors such as beige, nude and even bronze would give your skin a smooth, glowing look. You can also go au naturel and not put any base on. This works well for people who already have naturally fair and smooth skin. Remember that Goths always have flawless skin and thus if you have some acne it would be wise to go for the base powders instead of going without.

Now, we get to the eyes. These are the focal points of Goth make up. It can be extremely fun to experiment with the many styles as well as colors. There are no rules so you can pretty much do whatever your heart desires. So what are some ways to begin emphasizing to your peepers? Use liquid eyeliner in black. Line your eyes in a dark thick line to make them really stand out. Next, play with the eye shadow. The crazier the better. Most vampire Goths tend to ring their eyes with dark eye shadow in order to give them a haunting and tired looking gaze. Some supernatural’s on the other hand use really dark eye shadows with some glitter in it. The colors most commonly used are black, dark purple and dark blue. These colors would give your eye depth and lend you that haunting, dark gaze. As for the romantic look, a sweep of natural colored eye shadow would work.

Another great style is to draw, like henna tattoos, on the outside of your eyes using eyeliner. This would bring further emphasis to them. Next up we have the blush, if you are opting for the romantic look light red or pink hued blush would work well to get you that sensual look. If you are a vampire of hardcore Goth forget the blush. Remember you are aiming for the look of an undead so no colors on your cheeks as that means "life". Goth makeup isn’t at all very hard to reproduce. If you can get creative with your clothing then creating a look for your face shouldn’t be a hassle at all. Just remember to not go overboard and keep it classic looking in Goth traditions.
